Service Status

Hudson Valley DataNet completed construction of its initial fiber optic network ring in Orange County, New York in October 2000.

Expansion of the fiber ring into neighboring Ulster and Dutchess counties began in March 2001, resulting in a completely unified network bringing together the entire mid-Hudson Valley via our 1000+ mile fiber optic network. This unification effort included the completion of 3 strategic Hudson River crossings, providing multiple, redundant communication paths to interconnect the Valley's principal population centers. Further expansion into Rockland County began with construction in the spring of 2005. DataNet began offering services in Rockland County in the summer of 2005. Additional expansion into the northern counties of Columbia and Greene was completed in the fall of 2005. Further expansion into the major carrier hotels of New York City and Albany was completed in 2006, providing direct connectivity to 200+ telecommunication carriers.

Expansion into Connecticut and Northern New Jersey began in late 2004 and early 2005, respectively, with new routes being added on a continuous basis. Services are now being offered to customers in the Western region of Connecticut via our sister company, Connecticut DataNet LLC and in Northern New Jersey via our sister company, New Jersey DataNet Telecom, LLC.
